A little report of Comenius Project

From 17th to 22nd November 2013, 5 representatives from Lorenzo Calabrese-Primo Levi Institute of San Pietro in Cariano near Verona got to Morestel, a beautiful village in Lyon region, to meet their French correspondents and other students from Poland, Estonia and Turkey who took part into Comenius Project. After our arrival, we immediately understood that the main aspect of this trip was kindness: our host families and the other “colleagues” welcomed us like as old friends, with the same sense of hospitality. The activities of the following day were different and interesting. On Monday we went to Ravier’s College and were received in the town hall by the major. In the afternoon  we were guided in a funny orienteering race in Morestel, splendid medieval “ville” with its castle and the house of Auguste Ravier, talented impressionist painter.

At night we met together to show to the other people our work about Italy, its school system and our school, and the others did the same, with at the end an exchange of candies, biscuits and a tasty buffet, organized by our correspondents’ mothers. On Tuesday and Thursday we visited the attractive and charming cities of Cremieu, Chambery and Lyon. On Wednesday we learned how to help someone in danger with cardiac massage and the position of safety and we had a run effort test. In this happy atmosphere we forgot that outside there was very cold and snow accompanied us till the breath-taking bowling challenge.

During this trip we didn’t feel the differences among us, students of different parts of Europe. Even if we had different traditions, culture, languages and ideas, the common purpose was the same: believe that we can work for a better world “choosing where to live and thinking healthy in a healthy community”. We are the change, we are the chance!
