First day in Manisa - Vitamins and minerals found in different food

24/02/2014 17:31

We were all in the centre of attention on our first day in Manisa on 24th February. At first we were introduced the local school. We were told that every Monday morning and every Friday after school it is common practice to sing the national anthem. The architecture of the school building was unique and different compared to that what we have in Estonia. Namely, you could see all the corridors of each stock while looking up from the bottom.

It was extremely impressive how the Turkish team had designed the corner of Comenius by setting up the national flags with informative bullets of each country participating the project.

After the instruction tour at school there were the presentations of the homework about „Vitamines and Minerals in Different Dishes“. Some of the presentations were way too long and quite similar to each other but they all were on a very detailed level in terms of healthy food. We personally think that our presentation was enough good because it differed a bit from other countries and it was very eye-catching and interesting to listen to.

Once all the presentations were presented we were introduced the local town – Manisa. We visited many mosques where you had to take off your shoes before entering the temple. We also admired the scenic views where you could see the moutains as a background of the city. During the evening we managed to pop in to many lovely cafes and enjoy local deserts.
